There is so much to explore on Holy Island, whether you’re after coastal walks, birdwatching, discovering the history of the Island or prefer to cosy up in the pub. The cottage has buckets, spades, crabbing lines and fishing nets for those wanting to discover what lies in the rock pools.
Off the Island there is even more to discover, the nearest town is Berwick-Upon-Tweed which is where the nearest supermarkets can be found, a 25 minute drive from Holy Island. Unfortunately there is no longer a shop on Holy Island so be prepared before arriving with basic provisions; however, the Post Office does sell absolute essentials such as bread and milk.
The cities of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and Edinburgh are also within easy reach of the Island and, depending on tide times, it is possible to do a day trip.
